LOCATION

Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine – the place to play Kubb

The city of Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine is located on the banks of the Seine between the major urban centres of the Seine-Maritime department: Le Havre and Rouen. The city, which has been able to develop its industrialization and trade thanks in particular to its strategic geographical location, will host the EKC’25 on the occasion of its 200th anniversary and will organize many events.

Port Jérôme was created in 1861 under Napoleon III, along the Seine, named in honour of Jérôme Bonaparte, younger brother of Emperor Napoleon I. It has 10,264 inhabitants. Many quality facilities are present in the municipality: cultural centre, Olympic swimming pool, ludo/media/artothèque, stadiums and gymnasiums, departmental conservatory and many more.

You can take the opportunity to visit the nearby abbey of St Wandrille founded in 649, as well as the Roman theater of Lillebonne, both classified as historical monuments. If you want to extend your stay, the region offers many sites to discover such as the tourist towns of Le Havre and Honfleur. You can walk through the medieval streets of Rouen and discover its cathedral dating from the second century, housing the tomb of Rollo, Viking lord and first Duke of Normandy. Discover the Alabaster Coast and in particular the seaside resort of Etretat famous for its cliffs, the beaches and museums retracing the history of the D-Day landings during the Second World War or Mont St-Michel, a little further away, whose bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The tournament will take place at the Stade Virmontois, rue Jean Cocteau 76330 Port-Jérôme-sur-Seine.
